From three men standing near St Paul’s Cathedral to an award-winning nonprofit organisation that has impacted more than 200 men, this is the story of how Men’s Prosperity Club began.

Every Movement Starts With a Moment

For Men’s Prosperity Club (MPC), that moment came from something many men quietly experience but rarely talk about: feeling alone while carrying life’s challenges.

Officially established in May 2024, MPC began with a simple vision: to create a space where men could have honest conversations, build meaningful relationships and support each other through life’s ups and downs.

There was no large audience or detailed plan at the beginning. There was one person recognising that something was missing—and deciding to reach out.

The Feeling That Started It All

MPC was founded by Ronaldo Hare, who experienced a deep sense of alienation while facing challenges in his business journey.

He continued working and tried to navigate the difficulties alone. Eventually, he recognised that being resilient did not mean having to face everything by himself. He needed genuine conversation, support and connection.

Ronaldo reached out to his close friend Daniel Baines, a therapist. Together, they began exploring a question:

What if men had a place where they could openly talk, connect and support one another?

That question became the foundation of Men’s Prosperity Club.

The First Walk & Talk: Starting Before It Was Perfect

The first MPC Walk & Talk took place on Thursday 23 May 2024, with a focus on mental health.

There was no large marketing campaign and no certainty about how many people would attend. Daniel suggested postponing the event for another month to allow more time to prepare.

But Ronaldo wanted to take the first step. His response was simple:

“Let’s just get started. Let’s start messy and get perfect later.”

That willingness to begin, even with uncertainty, helped turn their idea into a community.

Three Men. One Conversation. The Beginning of Something Bigger.

The first Walk & Talk brought together just three men:

Ronaldo Hare — Founder and Director of MPC
Daniel Baines — Co-founder
Rabbi Mambonzo — The first community member to attend

As Ronaldo and Daniel prepared to meet near St Paul’s Cathedral, they wondered whether anyone would arrive.

Then they saw Rabbi.

There was no crowd, but there was an opportunity for three men to walk, talk and listen to one another. That was enough to begin.

Two Hours That Showed the Power of Connection

During the next two hours, the conversation became honest, personal and reflective.

The three men shared experiences and challenges that helped them understand one another more deeply. Afterwards, Rabbi offered a reflection that captured the value of that first gathering:

“In those two hours, I learnt more about Daniel Baines than I had learnt about friends I had known for two years.”

His words expressed what MPC hoped to make possible: a space where men could move beyond everyday conversation and feel comfortable sharing more of their lives.

That first walk showed how much connection could grow when people had time to speak and someone willing to listen.

From Three Men to More Than 200

Since that first gathering, MPC has grown into a community that has impacted more than 200 men.

Through Walk & Talk sessions, social events, personal development workshops and community activities, it continues to create opportunities for men to meet, share experiences and build relationships.

The community has grown, but its purpose remains rooted in that first conversation: helping men feel connected and supported through life’s challenges.

A Small Beginning With a Lasting Purpose

MPC’s story is a reminder that meaningful change can begin before everything is ready.

For Ronaldo, Daniel and Rabbi, it began with showing up. Three men made time for an honest conversation, and that experience became the starting point for something much larger.
